Funding & Compensation

​​​​​​​​​​​​​The BC government funds the DRO program to reduce physician workload and improve patient care. Clinics can use DRO services, including eReferrals, at no cost.

What is covered?

​​Licensing: The platform licenses are fully funded for clinics using eReferrals.

Tools access: Free access to clinical referral and patient communication tools, such as secure messaging and appointment reminders.

Implementation support: Funding is available to help health care teams during implementation and training phases.

Who is eligib​le?

Doctors of BC Members: Eligible for compensation covering time spent on implementation and learning (typically 2–7 hours). Support staff may also qualify. Members can participate in specialty working groups ​and attend webinars.​

Nurse Practitioners: May receive compensation through quality improvement or educational projects.
