What are eReferrals?
eReferrals enable digital referrals between health-care providers. This new service reduces reliance on manual processes, increases efficiency and improves patient care coordination.
As a health-care provider, you can access eReferrals through your integrated electronic medical record (EMR) system or a web app. With the ability to securely share data between systems, you’ll be able to auto-populate content, generate referrals and instantly send your referrals directly to other providers.
This digital service also gives you the tools you need to view the status of referrals, follow up with providers, and send messages or reminders to your patients.
As part of the Digital Referrals & Orders (DRO) Program, eReferrals are the first in a suite of new services provided at no cost to support community and ambulatory care providers in British Columbia. Watch for more digital services coming soon, including order requisitions for lab and medical imaging, and requests for consults.
